Looking for an opportunity to volunteer with other folks from Saint James AND help families in need? Saint James is partnering with the Lorton Community Action Center (9518 Richmond Highway, Lorton) to help fill the pantry. Each week more than 200 families come to the pantry to ensure they have food on their tables. The event for folks of all ages will happen on Sunday, September 16th from 1-4pm. Lunch will be available (hot dogs and hamburgers via the Mason Neck Lions Club), so you can come straight from worship with your food donation to LCAC. There will be music, pumpkin painting and lots of work in the pantry. Here’s what YOU can do to help:
(1) Download a list and fill a bag with one of the most needed lists! Lists can be found here: https://lortonaction.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Fall-for-LCAC-Food-Drive-Kit.pdf or pick one up in the lobby.
(2) Register at the kiosk in the church lobby or email Linda, Linda@sjumc.net to RSVP for the event!
Can’t help out? You could bring a bag of food and we will get it to LCAC or you could purchase fresh food for the pantry which will arrive after Fall for LCAC. You can order fresh food here: https://ampyourgood.com/user/campaigns/3078
