The First Step

This week we begin a series on the prophet Isaiah. And we'll be looking a fairly famous section where God "calls" the prophet and ultimately, the prophet says,

Here I am; send me.

Usually our call stories are not so dramatic; when I look at the passage (Isaiah 6:1-13), I see some subtle messages other than a simple call story. There is a need for a whole new direction for an entire people who have wandered from who-they-are and who-they-were-meant-to-be. They need to take the "first step." We'll talk about that on Sunday.
